His fingers started at her neck, then moved slowly down past the small of her back. He caressed her shoulders, worked his hand over her stomach, down her left arm, along her side, over her hip, and down her leg to her calf.
Then he moved back up her thigh, stopped near the top of her leg, and repeated the same careful search on her right side. Suddenly, he stopped, rolled over, and went silent.
Touched by all this attention, she asked in a loving voice:
— Honey, that was wonderful. Why did you stop?
— I found the remote.
